The Friendly Moose - Making the Northern Lights and other Lapland Experiences Accessible!
Have you ever dreamed of seeing the Northern Lights, experiencing a sled ride across a frozen lake pulled by a team of huskies, being in a beautiful silent snow covered forest, visiting Santa in Lapland, resting on the banks of the mighty River Torne under the Midnight Sun or marveling at mile after mile of the stunning autumn colours of the world’s biggest forest, but thought it just wasn’t possible or safe or practical?
Well these treats, and so many others, can now be enjoyed by travellers with additional needs or disabilities, slow-walkers and, of course, all their family members and companions at The Friendly Moose Guesthouse in the heart of Swedish Lapland.
We offer accommodation-only options through the Summer, but in the Autumn and Winter (Northern Lights season!) we offer 7 night packages that feature a super programme of Lapland activities and experiences, accessible airport transfers and transport, lovely warm cosy accommodation and friendly English-speaking guides to help and support as needed throughout your holiday. Guests will need to book their own travel/flights and we can provide information to help you with this.

Mitternachtssonne oder Kilometer für Kilometer die atemberaubenden Herbstfarben des größten Waldes der Welt bewundern? Aber Sie dachten, das wäre einfach nicht möglich oder sicher oder praktisch?
Nun, diese und viele andere Leckerbissen können Reisende mit speziellen Bedürfnissen oder Behinderungen, Langsamläufer und natürlich alle ihre Familienmitglieder und Begleiter im The Friendly Moose Guesthouse im Herzen von Schwedisch-Lappland genießen.
Während des Sommers bieten wir nur Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten an. Im Herbst und Winter (Nordlichtsaison!) Bieten wir 7 Übernachtungspakete mit einem tollen Programm an. Wir bieten Aktivitäten und Erlebnisse in Lappland, zugängliche Flughafentransfers und Transportmöglichkeiten, sowie eine schöne, gemütliche und freundliche Unterkunft. Englisch sprechende Guides helfen und unterstützen Sie bei Bedarf während Ihres Urlaubs. Gäste müssen ihre eigenen Reisen / Flüge buchen und wir können Informationen bereitstellen, um Ihnen dabei zu helfen.
Wichtig ist, dass sich in Ihrer Reisegruppe wenigstens eine Englisch sprechende Person befindet, da die Gastgeber kein Deutsch sprechen.

Meet the lovely Siberian Huskies and let them take you across the frozen lake. 2 types of sled to suit all abilities.
You get to say hello to the locals!
Both of our apartments have acesssible roll-in wetrooms, although one is slightly on the small side so more suited to guests who can stand and make their own way to the shower chair.
Oscar The Moose is the friendliest moose we know. You can stroke him and feed him. He is beautiful.
Our snowmobile and pulka can transport you into the most magical winter forests, where we can enjoy coffee and food cooked over an open fire..
Airport transfers and all travel throughout your winter holiday is on our wheelchair-adapted high-roof minibus. We have 9 seats, plus space for 2 passengers to travel in their own wheelchair. The Friendly Moose has ramp access and all guest accommodation is on the ground floor.
We have a portable hoist available for guest use, although you will need to bring your own sling. Max user weight 180 kg.
The Northern lights can be seen on a regular basis when skies are clear and mother nature is kind. They are very special.
There are beautiful views from the property and accessible footpaths by the Friendly Moose throughout the year.
The first mists and frosts of Autumn on the river Torne. The hill in the background is Finland. We are right on the border between Sweden and Finland so both countries can be explored.
Enjoy the fantastic views over the mighty Taiga forest.
It's great fun to play in the snow
Great skiing for all levels with very quiet slopes, rarely any lift queues and more affordable than the Alps.

The Friendly Moose in Winter. Temperatures dropped to minus 36 deg c last winter. However, because it is often dry and still when we have our coldest temperatures and we give you guidance and help with what to wear you will still keep warm.
After time outside it's lovely to warm and relax in the cosy room...
Both apartments have fully-equipped kitchens and dining areas.
Each apartment has 1 x electrical adjustable single bed, plus 1 x superkingsize bed and 1 x extra single bed. n.b. The electric beds can raise/lower head, knees and feet.
Both apartments have full size fridge-freezers.
